Project Description:
We have been given the exciting brief of designing an Eco Lodge in Sumatra that focuses on promoting awareness of conserving the local habitat of the orangans. The aim is for the Eco Lodge to act as a base for the Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS) from where they can work with the local community as well as visitors to carry out conservation work within the area, plant tress to restore the damaged eco system and provide training to help the local people work towards a more sustainable future for their forest.
We have decided to carry this project as a group of four (Sam, Sirwan, Andrew and myself). This was because of the scale/nature of the brief and the fact the project lasts only 3-4 weeks.
